Theresa Ann Sommerville, 74, of Akron, OH, transitioned from earth to heaven on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at her residence.
Theresa Ann Sommerville was born on January 23, 1950, to loving parents Barbara Sommerville and Harold Sommerville in Akron, Ohio. Theresa was a lifelong resident of Akron, graduating from East High School in 1968. After graduation, she entered the workforce, where she was employed by Summa Health as a nurse’s aide for 48 years, retiring in 2014. Theresa dedicated her life to Christ, being baptized at The House of The Lord, where she served as a member. Her commitment to caregiving extended beyond her profession as she was a devoted caregiver to her parents in their later years. As the oldest of 10 children, she naturally assumed the role of a second mother figure to her siblings. She welcomed two daughters and served as the mother figure to six bonus children. She was an integral part of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives, helping to care for them. Theresa’s nurturing spirit was felt by all she encountered, impacting the lives of countless family and friends during her 74 years of life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Harold Sommerville; sister, Rhonda Sommerville; and brothers, Keith Sommerville, Jerome Sommerville, and Gary Myers; stepson, Larry Hill.
