Timothy Jarrel Sims, affectionately known as Tim or TJ, was born December 27, 1988, to the union of Timothy and Karen Scott-Sims.
He went home to be with the Lord, September 11, 2023.
Tim was educated in the Barberton School System, graduating from Barberton High School in 2007. He attended Marietta University on a football scholarship, however, after a football injury, he came back to Barberton and enrolled in the University of Akron.
During his youth, Tim was actively involved in sports, playing football, basketball, baseball, and track. He eventually showed more interest in football and basketball and choose to advance in those sports. Tim had many hobbies especially watching his favorite sports teams, the Michigan Wolverines and North Carolina Tar Heels. He also enjoyed watching movies, his favorite tv shows, working in the yard and staying active.
Tim enjoyed landscaping as he recently held a Union Construction position with Kenmore Construction and although the labor throughout the day was intense, it was what he enjoyed doing.
Tim will always be remembered for his personality and smile. He had the ability to make people laugh without trying and his smile would light up any room he walked into and make it infectious. Tim would give the shirt off his back and would do anything to help someone in need.
Tim’s character was unmatched, and he may not have been aware of how he impacted so many lives in a positive way. His jokes, his smile, his laugh, but most importantly, the love he gave to everyone he came across during his life will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, Timothy Sims; his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Karen Scott-Sims; his brother, Garrick Sims; his children, Kameron, Arianna, and Natalia and his long-time partner, Tanya Nakoff; her sons, Will and Jordan; uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
