In Loving Memory Of

Troy D. Douglas

Sunrise: November 15, 1976
Sunset: December 17, 2024

The Lord received the undying spirit of Troy Deshaune Douglas, age 48, of Stow, Ohio on December 17, 2024, at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. He was a loving Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Nephew, Uncle, Cousin and Friend.

Troy was born November 15, 1976, in Brooklyn, New York. He was the third child born to the union of Charles David Douglas, Jr., and Priscilla White Douglas. His father preceded him in death.

He was raised in the Fort Green community of Brooklyn, New York and received his education at Brooklyn’s Westinghouse High School. He was a quick study with a strong focus and constitution which enabled him to do whatever he put his mind to. He was dedicated, committed, extremely hard working, and always gave 1,000% to everything that he did.

Troy was introduced to Christ at an early age. He and his brother were altar boys at the Historic St. Michael & St. Edward Catholic Church in Fort Green. Troy loved history and science, and always studied the Bible throughout his life. In 2005, Troy obeyed the Gospel, was baptized, and became a member of the Harlem Church of Christ.

Troy and Debbie met in Brooklyn in the summer of 2003, when Debbie took her dog Player out to relieve himself. The relationship flourished over the years, and together, they relocated to Akron, Ohio in 2009 and made Northeast Ohio home. They established careers and worshiped with the West Side Church of Christ in Fairlawn, Ohio where they married. Troy worked in manufacturing, vending delivery, and in the Rubber Industry for the past 10 years as a compounder. He was proud to be an established team member with his company. Troy also had a love and niche with electronics and technology. He enjoyed gaming, during the short windows of time that he would take to chill and relax. Music and good movies like the Marvel series were his jam! He truly loved to laugh and make others laugh at the same time. He would always say something crazy to make light of tough situations. During the summers, Troy was “in his zone” when grilling the best barbeque.

His memories will be cherished by his Wife Debbie, of Stow, Ohio, his children Sincere and Destiny, Mother Priscilla, Sisters: Linell, and Brother David of New York, Nieces Daria (Daffy), Shydavia (Sha Sha), Stanyes (Na Na), Nephews Joey, Amiere, Great-Aunt Ruth, and a Great-nephew Naseem, with whom he had a special relationship; two young Great-Nephews, two young-Great Nieces, and other relatives and friends.

Though he will be intensely missed, his spirit will live within our hearts forever.
