William L. Thigpen, 68 of Alliance, passed away January 6, 2025. He was born on December 19, 1956, to the late Daisy Lightner Bell and Richard L. Dickerson.

William served a brief period in the United States Marine Corps and held various jobs throughout his life. A devoted member of Triumph Church, where he served as an usher and was actively involved in the prayer band. He was one of the top welders at Alliance High School Graduate class of 1978.

He had a deep love for music, hand dancing and playing pool and in his younger years, enjoyed cooking pancakes. William had a great sense of humor and a memorable laugh. Always one of the top contestants in the families Annual Belly Rolling Competition. William also loved calling his siblings on the hone anytime of the day or night. He will truly be missed.

William was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and three siblings, Vincent Thigpen, Garnetta Thigpen, and Gene Thigpen.

He is survived by his children, Dedrick (Stephanie) Colbertson and Tasia Campbell of New Orleans; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Toriya, Xander, and Christian; and one great-grandchild, Luna Marie. He is also survived by eight siblings, Tomella (Albert) Carter, Allen (Gloria) Thigpen, Roberta (Melvin) Adger, Sonia (Ron) Douglin, Melvin Lightner, Richard Thigpen, Kimberly Barnes, and Perry Bell; one maternal aunt, Nelly Mattox; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Triumph the Church and Kingdom, 683 S Linden Ave, Alliance, OH 44601-3082. Funeral services will immediately follow. Internment Alliance City Cemetery.
