Willie A. Jennings III, lovingly known as “Nino,” was born on April 7, 1968, in Akron, Ohio, to Willie A. Jennings Jr. and Catheryn A. Jennings.
Nino was a proud graduate of Central-Hower High School, Class of 1986, and soon after, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy. As a Gunner’s Mate, he served with dedication and honor for seven years, forging lifelong friendships and exemplifying discipline and loyalty.
Following his military service, Nino began a successful career at B&C Research, where he worked as a Machine Operator for 13 years. He later joined BWX Technologies, Inc., where he was a valued member of the maintenance department for 25 years, until his passing. His strong work ethic, reliability, and good-natured spirit earned him deep respect among colleagues.
Nino was an unwavering Pittsburgh Steelers fan, known for suiting up in full team gear every Sunday as if he were headed to the stadium. Beyond his love for football, Nino was deeply invested in his community. He served as a security professional, coached peewee football, and was a mentor to many, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
Family and friendship were at the heart of Nino’s life. He cherished every moment—whether watching movies or cartoons with loved ones, relaxing on the porch sharing laughs with his brother, or riding in style on his motorcycle and in his sports cars. Nino lived his life with joy, authenticity, and an infectious sense of humor that will never be forgotten.
Nino was preceded in death by his father, Willie A. Jennings Jr.; sister, Kelly C. Ford; and grandparents Willie A. Jennings Sr., Minister Joelle E. Wilkerson, and John & Freda Stembridge.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Catheryn Madden; daughters Ocean Jennings, CeCe Jennings, and Kalie (Brandon) Sales; sons Willie A. Jennings IV, Nino Jennings, and Christopher Jennings; grandchildren Stormi Ruffin and Recell Jennings-Andrus; brother Dion (Tilwana) Jennings; sister Trashawn (James) Thomas; godmother Roslyn Harris; godchildren T.J. Dent, Dierre Senter, and Kierra Carter; his best friend, Marice “Cali” Barnes; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Nino’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His laughter, loyalty, and love for life will continue to inspire all who were blessed to share in his journey.
