Willie James Paige departed this earthly life peacefully surrounded by his family on February 22, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital.
Willie was born on October 24, 1936 to the late Willie and Elizabeth Paige in Evergreen, Alabama. After moving to Akron, Ohio, he worked as a cement finisher at Local 109. He was a former member of the international masonic order lodge cornerstone. He loved the Lord, and served as a Deacon at Greater Temple Baptist Church, until his health began to fail. His doors were always open and tried to help so many. He will be deeply missed and will cherish his memory.
Brother Paige is preceded in death by parents, Willie and Elizabeth Paige; son, Otis Paige; sisters, Ethel Mae Thomas, Daisy Mae Lee, Annie Pearl Nicholson, Hazel White and Gladys Nicholson; brothers, J.B. Paige, Cary Lymon and John Paige.
He leaves to cherish his memories loving and devoted wife, Gloria J. Paige; dear sister, Evon Jackson; daughters, Minnie Thomas, Sharon Bushner, Jessica (Clyde) Prewitt, Quanteca (Antoine) Steward, Juwana Owens all of Akron, Oh and Breanna Woodard of Dallas, TX; sons, Jerome (Lisa) Noguera of Evergreen, AL, Willie (Stephanie) Paige Jr. of Akron, Oh, Damani (Carla) Curley of Nashville, TN, David (Dakeyla) Steger of Zanesville, OH; very special niece, Ann R. Stone and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
