David Lester McGhee received his wings at the age of 78. He was born in Talladega, Alabama to John Henry and Videsse McGhee. David moved to Akron, Ohio in 1964.

He worked at Chrysler Stamping until he retired. David was a very affectionate and loving man who loved everyone. He accepted Christ at an early age and loved the Lord. David would be in his Bible everyday all day long. Anything you wanted to know about the word of God, just ask David and he would take you to the right verse and scripture. He really loved his children and grandchildren and has always had a kind word to say about them.

David was preceded in death by parents, John Henry and Videsse McGhee; son, David McGhee Jr. ; sisters, Cora Lee Roper and Kathy Nash; brothers, Willa D. Harmon and Crawford Harmon and granddaughter, Lucretia Annatta Razor.

He leaves to cherish his memory wife of 36 years Annette McGhee; sons, Demetrius (Denise) McGhee, Dorian McGhee both of Akron, Oh, Darrick (Shalia) McGhee of Louisville, Mississippi, Brandon McGhee of Phoenix, AZ and Bernie (Natalie) Ingram of Columbus, Oh ; daughter, Brandie (William) Ingram of Akron, Oh; 16 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Friends may call on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at New Hope Baptist Church, 1706 S. Hawkins Ave. Akron, Oh 44320. Funeral service will immediately follow.
