Jon Leslie Grays was born on October 11, 1962, to parents Lacy Sr and Gloria Jean Grays. He was the youngest boy and three of five children.
He passed away quietly in his sleep after a long illness on January 28, 2023, in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of
Bethel Seventh-Day Adventist church here in Akron, where he performed numerous community services, including selling religious literature and collecting money to help feed the poor.
He was always cheerful and happy to participate however or whenever he could.
He graduated from Garfield High school in 1981 and went to Stark
for some time. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Ohio State and
Cleveland Indians fan. He enjoyed going to ball games and spending time with his family and friends.
He moved to Mississippi in 1994 and worked in several different restaurants as a busser and moved up to a server and then waiter.
His customers and co-workers loved him and received many accolades and awards for his excellent work.
He is preceded in death by; his father, Lacy Grays Sr. and his brother- in-law Donald Harrison Jr..
He leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Gloria Grays; his sisters, Tawana Harrison, Constance Grays, Frances Grays; and his brother Lacy (Skip) Grays Jr. (Karim).
He loved spending time with all his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and his cousins. He will be missed by special friends, Andre Boggan, Mary Hunter.
