Keith D. Walter, 57 of Akron, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday May 9, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born on November 5, 1968, to the late Janie Lee Walter and Steve Gladney. Keith lived a life marked by compassion, strength, and deep devotion to his family.

He spent 13 dedicated years working for Alloy Reserves where he was known for his humor, great work ethic, and dedication.

When he wasn’t working, Keith enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, bowling, playing cards, and grooving to his favorite music. Known for always wearing a smile, telling jokes, and sharing laughter with those around him, he was always prepared to step out in his finest attire. As an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Keith loved gathering with family and friends on game nights. Above all, Keith was a devoted family man who deeply loved his children. He often reminded them how much in love with them he was, a reflection of the special bond he shared with each of them.

He leaves to cherish his memory, Mae Hayes; children, Keith Canty of Akron, Ohio, Keyia Canty of Atlanta, Georgia, Jonahs Walter of Akron, Ohio, Jonathan Walter of Virginia, and Alexis Hayes and Sierra Hayes of Akron, Ohio; and grandchildren, Jazzaire, Jazzlynn, Milo, Jonathan Jr., A’mariya’, Ma’Leiyah, Kenzley, Antonio, Alexia, Aleigha, Ja’Niyah, Terri’ae, Sierra, Tierra, Ka’Miyah, and his canine companion, Dilly and a host of family and friends who love and miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at Macedonia Baptist Church, 940 McKinley Ave. Akron, Oh 44306. Funeral service will immediately follow. Internment Glendale Cemetery.
