Elaine Arnold, affectionately known as Lanie, gained her heavenly wings on September 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with declining health. She was mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her passing leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. If you knew Laine, she did not play about her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, her siblings, nieces, and nephews with all her heart. Lanie is what we called the protector of her family, growing up, Lanie made sure no one laid a hand on her siblings.
Elaine was born on September11, 1967, to Betty Jean Collins-Arnold and Royal Arnold.0 Elaine attended Akron Public Schools (Central – Hower High School) she was on the varsity track team, and she did very well. Elaine held numerous jobs, working for the University of Akron, Akron City Women’s Club and last working as a Home Health Aide, taking care of her many clients. Lanie’s personality was full of joy, fun, joking, love and laughter, she never met a stranger. Elaine had a real passion for cooking and was known for her famous pasta salad.
Elaine was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jean Collins-Arnold; maternal grandparents, Marie and James Collins; paternal grandparents, Helen and Roy Arnold.
She leaves to cherish her memory father, Royal Arnold; children, Dorland Arnold, Latwana Moore (David Easter), Caress Arnold, Thomas Arnold, and Jasmine Howard; grandchildren, Daishanay, Daisharay, David, Delila, Kamari, Deandre, Armohni, Dariah, Davaeh, Marquez, Skylar, Summer, Savannah, TaeVia’re, Azaria, Mikala, Reggie; great grandchild, Da’Niyla; sisters, Latwan Arnold (Stone Mountain, Ga), twin sister, Lorraine Arnold (Charles Wallace), Melodee Arnold; brothers, Royal (Cassandra Hawkins) Arnold, Maurice (Wonderous Hasell) Arnold; sisters, Danielle (Nicole) Arnold; La Royce Walker (Garland, TX); nephews, Charles, Dierre, Marcus, Dominique (Shavantae), Derek, Rayneal, Little Reese, Devanaire; nieces, Amanda (James), Markia, Tashay, Sanora, Rachel, Rochelle, Yolanda,Candy, Royalty and Majesty; very special aunt, Carla Arnold; friends, Tamara Fry, Stephaine Graham, Gwen, Vickey and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Rd. Akron, Oh 44320. Funeral service will immediately follow
