MyTaya Whatley

March 9, 1999 – September 22, 2026

MyTaya Whatley, who passed away on September 22, 2026, was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, partner, and friend. As the first granddaughter and the first baby of the family, she held a special place in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A graduate of North High School, Taya worked in hospitality and carried a giving spirit that extended far beyond her work. She volunteered her time, cared deeply for others, and loved wholeheartedly. Despite the adversities she faced throughout her life, Taya continued to persevere, prosper, and evolve, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Taya was preceded in death by her mother, Asia Watson, and her father, Antonio Townsend. She leaves to cherish her memory her stepfather, Lamont Watson; her grandmother, Felicia Whatley; her siblings, Davonna, Jaelynn, Cordell, Antonio, Nilah, Lanay, and Lanise; her loving partner of two years, Emma; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and other loved ones.

Taya will forever be remembered for her kindness, generosity, resilience, and the love she gave so freely to others. Her presence brought warmth to the lives of those around her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Though she is no longer with us, the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will remain with us always.

“I was so excited to watch you grow and see all you would become. Our time together was far too short, but I’m grateful our paths crossed. Love outlives loss, and your memory will live on in every heart you touched. Rest peacefully, Taya”
