Eric Roberts

Eric Roberts passed away on August 25, 2026.

Eric Levell Roberts was born June 8, 1966, in Akron, Ohio to Marsha Wilson & Freddy Rivers. Eric received his wings on August 25, 2026. He was a life-long resident of Akron, where he graduated from Buchtel High School. He was an avid basketball player and through the game he formed many long-lasting friendships. In 1990 he was blessed with a baby girl, Ayrika Wright. Londa, his lifelong partner & best friend, came into his life in 1991. They were married in 1995. Through that union came another beautiful baby girl, Jasmine Roberts-Combs. Outside the birth of his two daughters, the most important days of his life was when his grandson Josiah was born in 2020 and walking his beautiful baby girl down the aisle to marry James Combs just this past April, a son he loved dearly.

Eric accepted Christ at an early age and was always there when you needed him. He lended a hand to any and everyone. Throughout his lifetime he had innumerable “best friends.” Eric was THE family man. He loved his family, cousins, and siblings with all his heart. His love for his wife and in-laws, Troy & Gwen, was immeasurable. He was passionate about his music. If you came to his home, you were guaranteed to listen to Eric’s collection as he was always the DJ. He loved every genre of music. His mom always thought he sounded like Philip Bailey. Eric was a man of his word, if he said he was going to do something, he did it right. Eric was an avid debater; he never heard a topic he didn’t have a take on. Politics, sports, music, history, etc. he would find a point to go back and forth with you on because he was always right.

Throughout his life Eric worked several jobs but most notable were Children’s Hospital and Sealright/Amcor where he worked for over 20 years. After the closing of Sealright he went on to work for Sealedair and would retire in 2026 due to a brief illness. Basketball, music, socializing with friends, traveling were all the hobbies he loved, none more important than doing for everyone around him. Eric will always be remembered for his love of his family and friends, compassion, and faithfulness.

Eric was an excellent son, a compassionate sibling, a great friend, an admirable father, a loyal and loving husband, and all-around an amazing man. We will love you always and forever. Fly high, Eric, AKA E-Dub.

Preceded in death by Father, Freddy Rivers. Beloved siblings, Darran & Todd Roberts, Raemonique Washington. Special mentions: Grandfather, George Roberts. Aunt, Marion Williams. In-laws, Troy & Gwen Trice.

He leaves to cherish his loving wife, Londa Roberts. Daughters, Jasmine (James) Combs, Aryika Wright. Grandson, Josiah Vance. Mother, Marsha Wilson. Beloved siblings, Crystal Roberts, Corey (Wanda) Roberts, August (Chauncy) Harris, Stephanie Moore, Dino (Dena) & Doylan Rivers, Angela (Jamal) Eastland, Cedric Trice. His special niece Brittnie Goins, Special Friends, Joseph Danzy, Antonio Brooks, Derrick Hall and Sean Branch. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of beloved friends who will never forget the times they shared with him.

Visitation will be held on September 3, 2026, from 10 am – 12 noon with the service immediately following at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Rd. Akron, Oh 44320. Condolences may be sent to 188 Caladonia Ave Fairlawn, Oh 44333.
