Honore A. Sommerville passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2026. He was born on January 21, 2009, in Akron, Ohio, to his loving parents, Janae Crooks and Angelo Sommerville. Affectionately known as “Rollie” by his family, Honore brought light, energy, and love into the lives of all who knew him.
Honore attended Cascade Preparatory School and grew up with a deep passion for sports. From an early age, he displayed determination and heart, playing basketball with Joy Park Tiny Tots, peewee football for the Titans, and later continuing his athletic journey with Akron East, advancing to play at Ellet High School for a season. He also played baseball with the Firestone Park Little Rams. No matter the sport, Honore gave his all, always driven by a strong competitive spirit.
Above all, Honore was devoted to his family. As the second of five brothers, he naturally stepped into the role of protector, always looking out for his siblings with love and strength. He was known for his charisma, outgoing personality, and the way he could uplift any room he entered.
True to the meaning of his name—dignity, integrity, respect, and esteem—Honore embodied these qualities every day. He marched to the beat of his own drum, unafraid to be himself. He was kind, outspoken, and wise beyond his years, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Honore was truly one of a kind, leaving a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his great-great-grandparents, Harold and Barbara Sommerville; his great-grandmothers, Theresa Sommerville and Alisa Harris; and his grandfather, James Crooks.
He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory mother, Janae Crooks, the heartbeat of his existence; father, Angelo Sommerville; brothers, Angelo Jr., LaDon, Jionni Sommerville, and Cassius James; special brothers, Da’mourion, Tone, Lil Twon, and Chance; special great-grandfather, Louis Hill; grandmothers, Rachelle Sommerville and Lavon Hamilton; great-grandmother, Evelyn McCormick; and grandfather, Ronnie Taylor; great aunt, Bridgid Sommerville; aunts, Jalisa Crooks and Sincerae Johnson; uncles, Andre’ and Aaron Sommerville, Ted Hamilton, and Lil Ronnie Taylor; and many cousins, including Brittney, Brylee, Brittyn, Kendall, Aaron Jr., Ariyah, Asiah Sommerville, Reign Rosser, Royalty Crooks, River and Reason, Tedkia, Tuniya, Taylor, Lil Ted, Taron, Tayzon Hamilton, and Ciera Ryals, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.
