Marcha Gould Parks

Marcha Gould Parks, 88 left her earthly home to be with the Lord. She passed peacefully on March 21, 2026, surrounded by loved ones at her home in Akron, Ohio.

She was born in Akron and graduated from South High in 1955. Marcha spent her entire life in Akron, where she lovingly raised four sons. During her working years Marcha dedicated many years of service to the State of Ohio at Western Reserve Psychiatric Habilitation Center (formerly Hawthornden State Hospital) in Sagamore Hills, Ohio.
She retired and went back to work part-time at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.

Marcha was a faithful woman of God and a devoted member of Prince of Peace Baptist Church in Akron, where her late husband, General A. Parks, served as an Associate Pastor. She remained active in the church until her health began to decline.

With her beautiful smile and soft laughter, Marcha brought warmth to every room she entered. She loved gardening and being outdoors in her yard, she often said that being in the dirt and planting and taking care of her flowers was therapy for her. She also loved working and being at the church.

Marcha was preceded in death by: her first husband, and father of her four sons, Jerry K. Gould, at an early age; her second husband, Rev. General A. Parks; and her youngest son, Donald Gould, her parents, Willie and Daisy Biddings; siblings, Bo Willie Biddings, James Foster, Tiny Biddings, Geraldine McBeth, Willie Biddings, Delores Davis, Jean Johnson, and Lutitia Jackson.

She leaves to cherish in her memory her sons, Michael A. (Felisha), Gerald A. (Gina), and Ronald (Tracey) Gould, all of Akron; brother, David (Thelma) Biddings Sr.; stepchildren, Nils (Melissa) Williams of Columbus, Ohio, and Jetvon Williams of Cleveland, Ohio;  a host of  grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and special niece/ baby sister Melody Lee Dayton, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, and other beloved relatives, stepchildren, in laws, or extended family.

Marcha’s presence will be dearly missed, but her kind and loving spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at Prince of Peace Baptist Church, 844 Garth Avenue, Akron 44320. Funeral service will immediately follow and will be live stream on Prince of Peace Baptist Church YouTube page. Internment Mount Peace Cemetery.
