Jaymesson Andrew Franklin passed away on September 26, 2026.
Jaymesson was born in Akron, Ohio, and attended Akron Public Schools. He was a gentle giant—hardworking, dependable, and full of life. Jaymesson had many gifts and talents and loved to have a good time. He had a great sense of humor, loved meeting new people, and could make everyone laugh. Those who knew him enjoyed being in his presence, and his warm spirit will be deeply missed.
Jaymesson had a love for food and anything with wheels, especially cars. He loved loud music, installing stereos, working on cars, swimming, and attending car shows. His passion for automobiles was evident in the joy he found in working with them and sharing that interest with others.
Jaymesson began working at Rocky’s as a young person and went on to hold various jobs throughout his adulthood. He was hardworking and dependable, always willing to put his talents and abilities to use.
Family and friends meant so much to Jaymesson, and he treasured the time he spent surrounded by the people he loved. Most importantly, Jaymesson had a relationship with the Lord and frequently attended Remedy Church, where his faith was an important part of his life.
Jaymesson also believed strongly in fighting for justice. He was an active member of the Freedom Riders and participated in protests supporting Jayland Walker and others who were seeking justice. His willingness to stand up for what he believed in was another reflection of the heart and courage he carried throughout his life.
Jaymesson was loved by many, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jamar Franklin; uncles, Charles Riggins and Governor Lee Franklin; and other loved ones.
Jaymesson leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Sharon Franklin; father, Brian Daniels; sisters, Stephanie Newton (Terry Clark), Latecha Franklin, and Jameesha Blakely; brothers, Jquan Franklin (LaQuasha Robertson), Marcell Williams, and Tamarrion Jennings; grandmother, Patricia Woods; girlfriend, Myiesha Harrison; daughter, Miael Thomas; aunts, Jennifer Riggins and Vanessa Marie Franklin (Femi Odunsi); uncles, Mark Riggins and Raymond Franklin; nieces, Treasure Edwards, Zaraya Elmore, Amari Franklin, Leiyiana Wilson, and Laniya Franklin; nephews, Syeed White, Hasim White, Zavier Franklin, Jamir Hopson, and Jamari Hopson.
He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of special friends, including Tyron Brown Jr., Trayvon Mills, Tom Dunson, Troy Dunson, the Freedom Riders, Darshawn “Boo” Spragling, Akron S.L.A.B., Timothy Manning, C.J. Manning, Weeks Street Crew, Mr. Ali, Tieree Brown, Minnie Davis, Aaryon Nance, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Though Jaymesson is no longer with us, the laughter he shared, the people he touched, the causes he stood for, and the love he gave will live on. His memory will forever be a blessing to those who had the privilege of knowing him.
May Jaymesson Andrew Franklin rest peacefully, forever loved and never forgotten.
