Thomas Eugene Turner (Smoot) went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2021.

He was born to Elliott and Lizzie Turner on Dec 3, 1951 in LaGrange, GA. He moved to Akron, Ohio at an early. He attended and Graduated from John R. Buchtel High School. He was the first African American King B at John R. Buchtel High School. After high school he joined the Navy. He was a Family man. He enjoyed visiting and spending time with his family. He made frequent visits to the south to visit family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his Father Elliot Turner Sr, Mother Lizzie Turner. Brothers Elliot Turner Jr., Sylvester Turner, Robert Turner, Frank Turner, Charlie Howard Turner, and John Turner; Sisters Julia Lee, Carrie Wadley, Katie Ruth Dowdell, and Dorothy Turner. He leavesto cherish his memories. His two little ladies that always kept him together, his daughters Marquetta and Carletta Somerville of Akron, Ohio; Grandchildren, Marlon D. Sommerville, Martell E. Smith-Sommerville, Marquis C. Payne all of Akron, Ohio; Granddaughter, Majesty Payne of Akron, Ohio; Great grandson Nasir L. Payne of Akron, Ohio; Special Son, Raynard Sommerville; Special Niece Peggy Lee; Best Friend and Brother Dwayne Tomlinson; Life long friend and Mother of his Children Brenda Terrell—Somerville ; Special Friend Ollie Hill; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends.
