Wesly Samuel Fuller Sr. 85, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 31, 2022, in the arms of his devoted loving wife, at his home in Akron, Oh. Wesly Samuel Fuller Sr was born December 5, 1936, the third of four children to Aerieal Dooley Fuller. He lived most of his life in the Akron, Ohio area. As a young man, he was a talented musician and played several instruments including the clarinet and saxophone, having marched in Akron’s renowned Elks Band until they dispersed.
He worked for 20 years at F.W. Means & Co (formerly Akron Towel Supply) and later retired after 11 years from Summa Health System- Akron Campus, previously known as Akron City Hospital, where he worked as a Laundry Supervisor and was known for his dedication and strong work ethic, having never taken a day off work. He also enjoyed and took pride in his side work as a TV repairman, which he was well known for.
Wesly Samuel Fuller Sr. was an ardent defender of his faith and hope in Jesus Christ and spoke often of his confidence in the power of the Holy Ghost. He was a dedicated member of St. Ashworth Temple Church of God in Christ where he served as Chairman of the Deacon’s Board, Choir member, and member of the Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Prayer Band of Faith led by Mother Carrie Rice as well as Sister Emma Watson’s Wednesday morning prayer band, both of which were very instrumental in informing his faith.
Wesly Samuel Fuller Sr. was preceded in death by his Mother Aerieal Dooley Fuller and his brothers, James Fuller, Theodore Fuller, and Blandford Fuller.
He leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life, his wife Helen E. Fuller, with whom he enjoyed 65 years of marriage. His daughters Alfredda T. Sharp and Myra D. Gibbons, his only son Wesly Samuel (Regina) Fuller Jr., his favorite nephew Al Clark, seven grandchildren who loved and held him in the highest esteem, 20 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, his St. Ashworth Temple Family and a host of other friends and family.
