Willie Lee Bolar, better known as Joe, was born August 28, 1935 in Daphne, Alabama to the late Atlas and Beatrice Bolar. He graduated from Baldwin County Training School. Joe met and married Barbara Ann Daniels of Mobile in 1959. To this union there are 4 children, Renitha, Cassandra, Jennifer and Roderick.

Joe retired from construction, local 894 in 1988. Joe loved going to church. He really enjoyed the sermons and listening to the choir sing. He along with Barbara and their children joined Jerusalem Baptist Church in 1969 under the leadership of the founding Pastor Hubert Powell. Joe loved his family very much and it was shown through his actions. His family was his first priority and he was theirs. Joe was also a father figure to his wife’s youngest five brothers. These boys learned a lot from their father and looked up to Joe because he taught them as well. Joe was also a father figure to Charles Beach and spiritual father to Carrie Sneed. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He lived to see five generations from him and Barbara. To know him was to love him. He never met a stranger and treated everyone with respect. Joe was a true legend. His close friends are Jessie Dixon, James Johnson, Artie Johnson, Phillip Elliott.

Joe was proceeded in death by his parents Atlas and Beatrice Bolar, grandsons Gary Bolar and Jason Bolar, great grandson Sullivan Bolar. Brothers: Robert Bolar, George Bolar, Leo Bolar, Atlas Bolar Jr, Leslie Valrie, Theodore Valrie, Claude Valrie, Ruben Valrie, Raymond Valrie and Vase Valrie. Sisters: Ida Mae Thurman, Lily B. Pharr, Retha Yealding, Thelma Allen, Helen Baldwin, Josephine Washington and Alma Poellnitz. Father and mother in law John and Mattie Daniels, brother in law John Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife and caregiver Barbara Bolar. Children: Renitha Bolar, Cassandra (Larry) Williams, caregiver Jennifer Bolar all of Akron, Ohio, Roderick (Christel) Bolar of Chicago, IL, Tyler (Sanetta) Turner Sr. of Cleveland, Ohio, adopted son/brother in law Andy(Tonya)Daniels of Prichard, Al. Brother: James(Geraldine) Bolar Akron, OH Sisters: Dorothy Allen, Estelle Carmichael, Iola,(Eddie) Herrion, Vastie Johnson all of Daphne, Al, Gloria Christine Wells, Atlanta,Ga, sister in law Celestine Valrie, Grandchildren: devoted Farica (Donnell) Sneed, Terita (Deshaun)Jones, Rodelle Bolar, Tony Maple, Le’Roy Bolar, Roderick Bolar Jr, James Bolar, Tyler Turner Jr., 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, brother in laws: Eddie Herrion, Joseph Daniels Sr, Sterling Daniels Sr, Andy (Tonya) Daniels, Darrell (Vanessa) Daniels, Dontonio (Donna) Daniels, Sister in law: Elanie (Roy) Mitchell, Dannie (William)Actkins, Doris (Lasalle) Carr and other relatives and friends.
