Iris Denise Brackett, age 50, of Alliance, Ohio, suddenly passed away Wednesday April 2nd, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. She was born on May 13, 1975, in Alliance, Ohio. Iris was the daughter of the late Mona Lisa Brackett of Chicago, Illinois, and Sammy Brackett of Alabama. She was the third of four children and shared her life with her siblings, Angela McElroy (who preceded her in death), Sammy Brackett, and Kizzy Brackett.

A loving mother, Iris leaves to cherish her memory her two children, Shamika Payton and Jairon Brackett. She was also a proud grandmother to Aubree Brackett, Shamara Hall, Kami’ila Muse, and Kalen Payton, who brought immense joy to her life.

In addition to her parents and sister, Iris was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sarah May McElroy and George McElroy.
Iris dedicated five years of her life working at Fresh Mark, where she was known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and the friendships she built along the way.

Iris will be remembered for her loving and generous spirit. She had a deep love for music and enjoyed singing, often filling the room with warmth and joy. Known for always having her favorite drink Pepsi nearby, she found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and had a heart that touched many lives. Above all, Iris treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

Her love, laughter, and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Second Baptist Church 820 E. Patterson St. Alliance, Ohio 44601. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to service.
