Peggy Ann McCord gained her wings in the early morning of March 22, 2026.

Born in Akron, Ohio, on December 5, 1948, to James and Vivian Raybon. Peggy attended Akron Public Schools and was a proud alumnus of South High School’s 1967 graduating class.

As a valued X-Ray Technician, Peggy’s expertise expanded the capabilities of several hospitals, including Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio; Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio; and MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Peggy was a faithful servant of God, being baptized in 1966 and, in 2018, becoming an Elder in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Peggy is preceded in death by parents, James and Vivian; ex-husband, Eugene McCord, and sisters, Roshell Robins and Marilyn Gooden.

She is survived by sisters, Jeanette Tyson, Hazel Peterson, Gloria Vincent, and Darlynn (James) Gaston; children, Marcia Cade (Ossie), Lisa Buggs (David), Stephanie Hollis, Christopher McCord Sr. (Jennifer), and Michael McCord Sr. (LaToya); 12 grandchildren, Raquel McCord, Stephon Hollis, Christopher McCord Jr., Alexis McCord, Tanaya Tellinghuisen, Alycia McCord, Camron Tellinghuisen, Christian McCord, Jacob McCord, Michael McCord II, London McCord, and Jenisys Reddick; god daughter, Jenell Stembridge; special friends, Rosalynn Patterson and Brenda Stembridge; 12 great grandchildren and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm at Akron Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1398 S. Canton Rd. Akron, Oh 44312. Funeral service will immediately follow. Internment Glendale Cemetery.
